Before
After

This was an attic with two north-facing windows and no light beyond the entrance. The narrow plan left no room for cooking, sleeping, having friends over or getting any real work done. We redesigned it around spaciousness. A roof light was added with mirrored storage on one side, bouncing light across the full depth of the space. The murphy bed, the sofa, the table and chairs can all fold away. When they are, the floor is wide open. Room enough to roll out a yoga mat. When they aren't, you can work comfortably, host a dinner party for four, or invite friends to stay over.

Even though it's a compact studio, it never feels cramped. There is a place for everything, and the apartment feels both spacious and incredibly cozy. Jantien has transformed a small space into a beautiful, practical, and highly livable home.
